
Kaerus Recruitment is proud to partner with a South London Council in their search for a highly skilled part-time (0.8fte) SEND Transformation Lead. This vital role focuses on delivering Priority 5 of the Council's SEND and AP Strategy, ensuring a financially sustainable system for SEND services.
You will collaborate with seconded and non-seconded staff and key stakeholders, including the SEND Forum, to drive change and deliver measurable outcomes.
Ordinarily Available Provision (OAP):
- Develop and embed guidance for SEND needs in Early Years, primary, and secondary settings.
- Enhance curriculum adaptations for pupils with Autism and SEMH needs.
- Implement transitional arrangements like the Early Years and Year 6-7 Support Plans.
- Create inclusion metrics dashboards for schools.
SEND Commissioning:
- Review and improve the current SEND commissioning strategy.
- Address the sufficiency of specialist provision and reduce reliance on out-of-borough placements.
- Strengthen SEMH and outreach provisions to support inclusive practices.
SEND Funding:
- Evaluate and optimise funding arrangements to prioritise resources for children and young people (CYP) with the highest needs.
- Develop alternative funding models to reduce dependency on EHCPs.
- Enhance SENCO clusters to align with strategic goals.
- Design and implement a comprehensive SEND transformation programme.
- Identify and mitigate risks, dependencies, and issues effectively.
- Lead inclusive education, health, and social care provision improvements for CYP with SEND.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to drive change.
- Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent professional qualification.
- In-depth knowledge of the SEND system within a Local Authority context.
- Proven track record of managing complex programmes, including SEND transformation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Demonstrable experience influencing senior leaders and driving culture change.
- Expertise in programme and project management, leadership, and strategic thinking.
