We are seeking an enthusiastic and forward-thinking Speech and Language Therapist to join a specialist educational setting, working with pupils from Reception through to the end of Key Stage 2. This full-time, permanent position offers a fantastic opportunity to maximise child contact time and make a meaningful impact in the lives of children with speech, language, and communication needs, including those with autism and learning disabilities.

You will be responsible for assessing, planning, and delivering tailored intervention programmes for a specific caseload, working individually or in small groups in dedicated therapy spaces and classroom-based settings. Your role will be crucial in supporting pupils' access to the curriculum and fostering meaningful engagement in school tasks. You'll also have the opportunity to be involved in training, continuous professional development (CPD), and outreach programmes, all while working within a supportive and well-resourced multidisciplinary team.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, individualised speech and language therapy for children with a focus on autism and communication disorders.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate tailored intervention programmes for both individual pupils and small groups.
  • Provide training and guidance to teachers, learning support assistants, and parents to ensure a collaborative approach to care.
  • Contribute to Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCP), ensuring that all outcomes are met within available resources.
  • Keep detailed, accurate records in compliance with professional and organisational standards.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development and maintain your HCPC registration.
  • Collaborate with other education and therapy professionals to provide integrated support for pupils across disciplines.
Requirements
  • BSc in Speech and Language Therapy with current HCPC registration.
  • Member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
  • Experience working with children with speech, language, and communication needs, including learning disabilities and autism.
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload independently.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate complex and sensitive information effectively.
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the well-being of children.
  • Experience working in educational settings or with EHCPs is desirable.
