Kaerus Recruitment is seeking an experienced Moving and Handling Advisor to join a dynamic team supporting a groundbreaking project in St Helens. This initiative aims to enhance care delivery through the innovative "Moving with Dignity" project, focusing on reducing double-handed care packages to single-handed care.
Responsibilities
As a Moving and Handling Advisor, you will:
- Conduct comprehensive moving and handling assessments for individuals with complex needs.
- Prepare detailed risk assessment reports and provide practical recommendations.
- Deliver moving and handling training to formal and informal carers.
- Offer expert advice on moving and handling techniques, equipment, and adaptations.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to implement single-handed care strategies.
- Assess needs, prepare tailored care plans, and implement solutions in line with current legislation.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, you must:
- Be a HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist or a professional with equivalent moving and handling expertise.
- Have experience working with individuals with complex physical disabilities.
- Demonstrate knowledge of up-to-date moving and handling techniques and equipment.
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with partner agencies.
- Be able to work independently, manage a busy workload, and juggle multiple responsibilities.
- Have experience with the provision of equipment, major adaptations, and strong IT skills.
